Tokyo (JCNN) - Riken has announced that its researchers have discovered a key to elucidate a formulation mechanism of the
brain (lateralization) at the molecular unalterable, in collaboration with researchers of University College London.
According to their experiments of zebrafish, different neural circuits process information from the left side and ethical
hemispheres individually. Further, the difference in neural circuits is found at habenular nucleus, a specific brain constituent
deeply complicated in emotions. This discovery will shed light on why the brains hemispheres hold different functions.
Complete research results are at one’s fingertips on the January 20 Online issue of US scientific magazine Mainstream Biology, under the
epithet “Laterotopic Representation of Radical-Right Information onto the Dorso-Ventral Axis of a Zebrafish Midbrain End
Nucleus.”
